Compatibility

  1. MyWay Outdoor requires a memory card with at least 250 Mb of free space. Insert the memory card in the phone before beginning the installation process.
  2. Check that the phone’s date and time are correct.

Step 1: Installation

  1. Send the following SMS to +358400112236 from your mobile phone: MYWAY
  2. After a short time, you will receive a reply SMS that will include a link for downloading. Once you receive the message, click on the link and it will open the internet browser on the mobile phone. Make sure that your automatic search is on (see the User’s Manual of your mobile phone for more information on automatic searching).
    Please note! If you do not get a response to your SMS rather quickly, you access the installation page on: http://service.tracker.fi/mobile using the mobile phone’s browser.
  3. Click the “MyWay Outdoor 2.0” link to start the installation. Please note! There may be many installation links for the Outdoor version. Select the correct one for your phone and language.
  4. Choose your Memory Card as the desired location for the installation and answer yes to all questions.
  5. Close the internet browser on your mobile phone when the installation is complete.
  6. PLEASE DO NOT START THE APPLICATION once the installation is successfully completed. Instead, read through Step 2 and set up the necessary security settings for your new application.

Step 2: Configuration of security settings

Set up access rights for the MyWay Outdoor application. The access right settings depend on brand and model of the phone:

  1. In Nokia phones the settings are done with the Application Manager or Manager . The location of the Application Manager on the menu varies, but the icon is always the same, e.g., the App.Mgr for N73 is in > Tools > App.Mgr and for the 6110 Navigator > Settings > Data mgr. > App. mgr.. Choose the MyWay Outdoor application from the list and adjust settings as described below. Please note! The setting page in the Application Manager varies depending on the model of phone, e.g. N73 select: Options > Suite settings and for 6110 Navigator select: Options > Open
  2. For SonyEricsson phones the settings are usually requested when the software is started for the first time.

MyWay Outdoor requires the following access rights:

  1. In the touch screen devices, please select No keyboard to enable full screen mode.
  2. Network Access: Always allowed
  3. Messaging: Ask every time or Always allowed
  4. App. Auto-Start: Ask first time
  5. Connectivity: Always allowed
  6. Read User Data: Always allowed
  7. Edit User Data: Always allowed
  8. Positioning: Always allowed (mobiles with integrated GPS)

Step 3: Starting the software

  1. Activate the Bluetooth connection on your mobile phone (see the User’s Manual for your phone for more information on the Bluetooth connection). Please note! The phone’s internal Bluetooth identification is used to pair the software and phone even if you have internal GPS in the phone. Hint! The Bluetooth has to be active only in the first run of the software.
  2. Start up the application by clicking on MyWay Outdoor -icon.
  3. The first time MyWay Outdoor is used, the software will ask for an Internet address (access point) for registration, in case you did not select it in the Step 2: Configuration of security settings.
    1. The address often contains words such as Internet or GPRS
    2. Choose your Service Provider address.
    3. The address can not be a WAP or MMS address.
    4. If you get an error notification, please try another address.
    5. REMEMBER the successfully working internet access point. It will be required in the future e.g. for downloading maps.
    6. Please contact your operator for any further information regarding your GPRS or internet connection.
  4. When initiating the application, the registration page will load. Select Try and buy
  5. When the application is asking, Start GPS and go to Map, select Yes.

Purchasing licence and continuing usage

After trial period, you can purchase the licence or more maps from the Main Menu > Licences of the MyWay Outdoor. You can also purchase the licence from www.mywayoutdoor.com
